Honda has released its new eco-friendly 2013 Fit EV at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Fit EV will come with a 20 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 92 kilowatt coaxial electric motor. The electric motor offers impressive levels of efficiency and power while offering high speeds. The company will start leasing the new model to some California and Oregon markets next summer and will expand to six East Coast markets in early 2013.
The The Fit EV is expected to retail at about $36,625 with an estimated lease priced at $399 a month.

Idea Cellular today(23 Nov 2011) announced the launch of a range of 3G smartphone starting at Rs5850 onwards.

Idea new 3G smartphone priced at Rs. 5,850, Idea 3G user gets it for a value of just Rs. 2,609. Likewise, the handset priced at Rs. 7,992 has a value of just Rs. 4,751 for Idea 3G users, thus making them the best buys in their respective segments.

Idea new 3G smartphone touchscreen, based on the Android operating system, are being sourced from Chinese firms Huawei and ZTE, Idea's managing director Himanshu Kapania told reporters in Mumbai, adding that the company was also studying if it could enter the tablet PC market.

"We are not competing with handset makers. We want to provide customers a low entry-point for smartphones," he said.

Reliance Industries have maintained a lot of secrecy about their 4G plans but the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) director general, Rajan S Mathews recently confirmed that Reliance will launch their 4G network by December this year.

Mathews said that first BWA network will start rolling out by December this year. Reliance will start this and other operators like Airtel will follow the suit. They will launch their service by 2012 Q1.

He further added that they have used LTE technology for 4G. However, there haven’t been any announcements made because of security clearance issues and there aren’t any 4G devices in India either.
Both WiMax and LTE offer high speeds of wireless broadband access. The theoretical speeds go beyond 100 Mbps and users get real speeds of around 10 Mbps on the networks. Another great thing here that there is backward LTE compatibility with both CDMA and GSM networks.

Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum was held in June 2011 and the winner of licences was Infotel Broadband (which is owned now by Reliance Industries). They got licences for 22 circles where as Aircel got eight. Qualcomm and Bharti Airtel both got four each. Augere got one and Tikona managed five.
