Current Indian Army chief General V.K. Singh will be retires on 31st May 2012. And Lt General Bikram Singh will be next Army chief of India.
Defence Minister Spokesperson Sitanshu Kar said that "Lt Gen Singh has been appointed as the next Chied of Army, in the rank of General, with effect from the afternoon of 31 May 2012"
